How do I know which tier is right for me?

It comes down to where you are in your journey. If you're an early-stage founder or small business with lighter legal needs — contracts, compliance, the occasional question — Foundation is built for you. If you're actively growing, doing deals, or need a legal partner embedded in your day-to-day decisions, Operator is the right fit. Most clients start in Operator, but if you're actively in deals, you'll feel the limits quickly.

What does "unlimited async" actually mean?

It means you can reach out via Slack or email whenever something comes up. You're not routed through a system, you're working directly with me.

Can I switch tiers if my needs change?

Absolutely. If you start on Foundation and your deal activity picks up, moving to Operator is straightforward. We'd rather you be on the right tier for where you actually are than locked into something that doesn't fit.

What's the difference between Fractional GC and M&A / Deal Advisory?

Fractional GC is your ongoing legal partner — think contracts, risk, governance, and strategic support as you grow. M&A / Deal Advisory is best for when stakes are highest: buying, selling, or restructuring, and helps you get the outcome right.

Are there limits on what's included?

Each tier comes with a clear capacity. We prioritize a small number of active items at a time to keep things moving quickly and thoughtfully.

Tasks cover things like contract reviews, quick legal guidance, and draft documents.

Big standalone projects (like a full contract overhaul or a new compliance framework) count as Major Initiatives, and each tier includes a set number per quarter.

What's not included?

ATB Legal is focused on transactions and business operations. Court appearances, active disputes, and regulatory enforcement matters fall outside our scope. For anything that requires specialist expertise (tax, patent, complex labor law), we coordinate with the right people on your behalf rather than leaving you to manage multiple advisors yourself.
